European exchanges and cooperation

Cooperation in favor of intelligent water management.

The Intercommunal Syndicate of Arcachon Bay (SIBA) is interested in exchanging with others territories about water quality monitoring and management, in particular with the stakeholders of other bays, lagoons and estuaries.

Recently, the SIBA team was invited by the BigData4Rivers project to present its REMPAR network during a special webinar on october 15th,2021.

Bigdata4Rivers is an Interreg Europe project which offers opportunities for regional and local public authorities across Europe to share ideas and experience on public policy in practice.

Specifically, this project aims to move forward in water directive implementation by proposing the promotion of smart water management, and to promote its application.

The Bigdata4Rivers partnership includes the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Minho (Portugal); the Regional Development Fund on behalf of the Region of Attica (Greece); the Iberian Association of Riverside Municipalities of Duero River (Spain); the Cluster DREAM (France); the Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania); the National Union of Romanian Entrepreneurs (Romania); and the County Administrative Board of Östergötland (Sweden).

To go further, the SIBA proposed a web meeting on December 15th, 2021 to these partners and others (follow the link below to download the presentation).

On the agenda, we exchanged about:

-    Sampling strategies adapted to diffuse pollution

-    Methods of result analysis

-    Examples of actions to reduce pollution footprint

-    Waste water treatment, research and development

The SIBA’s overall objective is to exchange experiences & good practices between territories in the field of efficient water systems to progress in our activities on Arcachon Bay.

Today’s challenges demand innovation and knowledge, and we will be better together.
